THE PERSONAL (ENTHUSIASTIC) PROTECTION PLANNING GUIDE FOR WOMEN ENTREPRENEURS & BUSINESS LEADERS
Why Women Entrepreneurs Need to Protect Themselves
No one is coming to save you, so it's up to YOU
The world of entrepreneurship is a tough one. As a woman, you will have to put in more work than your male counterparts to get the same results. And you will also need to take extra steps to protect yourself from people who want to take advantage of you.
Here are some ways that women entrepreneurs can protect themselves:
-Know your worth, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise
We all have unique skills, traits, and assets that make us who we are. It's essential to take the time to get to know what sets you apart from others and recognize your full potential.
-Don't be afraid to ask for help
If you are a woman and you feel like you can't do something on your own, ask for help. You don't have to be afraid of asking for help, and you don't have to be ashamed of admitting that you need help.
Don't be afraid to ask for help from people in the same boat as you. Even better, seek out someone who is where you want to be. It seems counterintuitive, but asking for help will help give you a positive mindset boost and increase your confidence.
-Take care of yourself:
We live in a world where women are constantly fighting for their rights. Clarity of mind is important when you have to make BIG, small, or even the everyday hustle of running a business.
And to be successful in this fight, we need to take care of ourselves and invest in ourselves. It's easy to get caught up in the hustle and forget our own needs. But if we don't take care of ourselves, how will we be able to help others? As women entrepreneurs, we must take time each day for self-care. My go-to's are taking walks, meditating, or doing yoga.
- Invest in yourself:
There are so many opportunities out there that we want to invest our time and money into them without any guarantees of success. And while it’s tempting to do this because it seems like the only way to get ahead, it can be time-consuming and costly. So invest in yourself and your future by finding a mentor, enrolling in continuing education classes, completing professional certifications, or seeking other ways to grow your skillset.
-Get rid of toxic people from your life:
It is time for women to stop waiting for someone else to save them.
In Smart Women Know When to Say NO, Author Kevin Leman shares that people pleasers have to learn how to take steps toward their higher self and, for a better life, learn to say, “yes to NO!”
Women entrepreneurs are more likely to experience financial success than men. But, they are also more likely to experience failure.
To have a successful business as a woman entrepreneur, you need to have a strong mindset, plan ahead, and carefully choose the people you give your time and energy to.
